A group of Southern California Jeep 4X4 offroad folks |
It’s about time again to head South to Borrego Springs. May 23/24/25/26 2014 @ Palm Canyon Resort, Borrego Springs. This is Memorial Weekend so book early. We’re in space #53. Hotel/RV/Tent at the resort, if you don’t want to stay in camp or you can dry camp a few miles out of town. If you arrive early or stay over you can tour all the metal sculptures in Galleta Meadows (http://www.desertusa.com/borrego/bs-art.html). Saturday Night will be a B-B-Q on the trail. I’ll bring a large grill, you bring whatever you want to cook. After dinner & stargazing we we’ll do a nighttime exit via Fish Creek Trail and return to camp. Lots to do in Borrego Springs if you want to stay over. It’s kinda of an artist colony with lots of galleries.
WARNING – Don’t follow your GPS if you’ve got a big rig or are towing. That way is steep with sharp curves. Go through Salton City (Hwy 86) and turn on the Borrego Salton Sea Way. WARNING #2 – Go SLOW on the first mile or so of the BSS Way. It will bounce your coach high.
